Engine oil and filter change

Engine · every 300 hours or every year

The handbook changes the engine oil and filter at the first 50 hours, then every 300 hours and at least once a year. If the diesel has more than 0.5 % sulphur, halve the interval. The handbook's text repeats 300 hours. F90 takes 11 L, the others 6.7 L, plus 1 L with the filter.

Fuel filter change and water drain

Fuel · every 300 hours

The handbook drains water from the fuel filter bowl every 50 hours and replaces the cartridge every 300 hours. The prefilter and filter are two elements.

Hydrostatic steering and hydraulic control filter change

Hydraulics · every 300 hours

Valve clearance adjustment

Engine · every 600 hours

The handbook adjusts the valve clearance at 0.30 mm cold every 600 hours, in a Deutz-Fahr workshop. Injectors are cleaned in a workshop every 600 hours and the injection pump is checked at 1,200 hours.

Step-by-step
  1. Book the tractor in at 600 hours for the valve clearance (0.30 mm cold) and injector cleaning.
  2. At 1,200 hours have the injection pump and the alternator checked too.

Gearbox, rear axle and hydraulic oil change with filters

Transmission · every 1,200 hours or every year

The handbook renews the gearbox oil every 1,200 hours. The lift housing and hydrostatic steering share the oil, so drain them too. 41 L. The suction filter (160 micron) is replaced after the first 150 hours and then every 1,200 hours.

Air filter cartridge and safety cartridge

Engine · every year

The handbook cleans the main cartridge when the clogging lamp comes on, and replaces it at least once a year or after 6 cleanings. The inner safety cartridge is replaced after 3 cleanings of the main one. The handbook prints the air filter type as 2.4249.640.0/10 (8 inch); for the 3-cylinder models the same line reads 2.4249.6640.0/10, probably a misprint.
