Step-by-step
  1. Warm the engine to about 80 °C, park on level ground and stop the engine. Put the drain tray under the sump.
  2. Remove the drain plug and let the oil run out completely. Refit it with a new sealing ring.
  3. Clean round the filter, unscrew it and catch the oil. Clean the sealing face, lightly oil the new seal, screw it on until it touches, then another half turn by hand.
  4. Fill with 9.0 L through the filler. Run the engine at idle until the warning on the display goes out, check the drain plug and filter for leaks, then stop.
  5. After about 5 minutes check the dipstick: the level must be between MIN and MAX (about 2.0 L apart).

Tools: Drain tray (12 L), Filter wrench, Funnel, Gloves

Front wheel toe-in check

Steering · every 500 hours

The handbook checks the toe-in after the first 50 hours and then every 500 hours. It should be 0 to +2 mm.

Step-by-step
  1. Park with the wheels straight ahead on level ground at average front axle load.
  2. Measure between the tyres at hub height at the front rim flange, push the tractor forward half a turn of the wheels and measure again at the rear rim flange. The rear measurement should be 0 to 2 mm larger.
  3. Adjust the tie rods if not.

Tools: Tape measure, Spanners for the tie rods

Hydraulic oil change with return and vent filters

Hydraulics · every 1,000 hours or every 2 years

Step-by-step
  1. Differential: put a tray under it, take out the drain plug and drain fully. Clean and refit the plug. Fill through the level hole until oil runs out.
  2. Hubs: jack up the front axle so the wheels turn freely and disengage 4WD. Turn the wheel until the hole is at the bottom, drain, then turn so the hole is on the left with the marker horizontal and fill until it overflows. Refit the plugs.
  3. Do the other side. After filling, run the engine at least 5 minutes.

Tools: Drain tray, Spanners, Jack and stands

Fuel filter and fuel prefilter change

Fuel · every 1,000 hours

The schedule replaces the fuel filter box and the fuel prefilter at 1,000 hours and sooner if engine power starts to fall. The prefilter also needs water draining when the display tells you to.

Known problems

Which handbook

This is the first-generation 200 Vario V, F and P (3-cylinder Sisu engine, vehicle numbers 260 to 274 ..0101). The Gen3 200 Vario in fendt-200-vario-gen3 is a different tractor.

No STOU in the axles

The front axle and front PTO need hypoid gear oil, API GL-5. Fendt says do not use STOU or other universal oils in them. The transmission takes STOU.

Biodiesel and high-sulphur fuel

Fuel with more than 0.5 % sulphur, and biodiesel (RME to EN 14214), mean the engine oil and filter interval is halved. Change the fuel filter after a few biodiesel fills.

Coolant

Use only coolants Fendt approves (service memo 11/02) and keep the mix at 35 to 50 % all year, even in frost-free areas.

Fuel filter number

The genuine fuel filter listing on partao does not show a readable fitment list, so confirm it for your serial number before ordering. No genuine number was found for the air filters, prefilter, hydraulic or transmission filters.

Repair guides

The full step-by-step guides are in Farmyard Workshop once you add your tractor.
