Engine oil and filter change

Engine · every 500 hours

The Fendt dealer's schedule changes the engine oil, the oil filter and the drain plug washer at every service from 1,000 hours on, in 500-hour steps (1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 hours), so the interval is 500 hours. The schedule gives no time limit; check your handbook for one.

Service checks: toe-in, brakes, air system and electrics

General · every 500 hours

At every dealer service the schedule checks front axle toe-in (0 to 1 mm), greases the front drive shaft and all grease points, drains water from the air brake tanks, checks the airline antifreeze, battery, lights and wheel nuts, reads out the fault memory and test-drives the tractor.

Step-by-step
  1. Grease every grease point, including the front axle drive shaft.
  2. Check the front toe-in is 0 to 1 mm.
  3. Drain water from the air brake tanks and check the airline antifreeze bottle.
  4. Check the battery, lights, indicators and warning lamps.
  5. Tighten the wheel nuts and wheel weight bolts (rear weights on M16 bolts: 195 lb ft).
  6. Check tyre pressures, look for leaks and loose fixings, and test the brakes on a short drive.
  7. Have the dealer read and clear the fault memory if any warnings were logged.

Tools: Grease gun, Tape measure, Torque wrench, Tyre gauge

Fuel filter (and pre-filter if needed)

Fuel · every 1,000 hours

The dealer's schedule changes the main fuel filter at 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 hours, and the fuel pre-filter only as needed. Dirty fuel wears the injection pump and injectors.
