Step-by-step
- Park level, lower implements, stop the engine, take the key out and chock the wheels.

- Wipe off surplus grease so dirt does not stick.
Tools: Grease gun, Rags
Engine oil and filter change
Engine · every 500 hours or every 6 months
Eurol's guide gives the engine oil every 500 hours or 6 months, with a first change at 100 hours. On the Fastrac 3230 with the same engine, JCB says this holds only with JCB EP 15W/40 and its own filter; with other oil or filters change every 250 hours. The filter goes on with the oil every time.

Step-by-step
- Park on firm level ground, lower the linkage and implements, stop the engine, take the key out and chock the wheels.
- Let it stand about 10 minutes so the oil is warm, not scalding. Wear gloves.
- Remove the sump plug and let the oil drain fully.
- Clean around the filter head, unscrew the old filter and make sure its seal has come off.
- Oil the new filter seal and fit by hand as marked on the filter.
- Refit the plug and fill with about 17.5 L to the full mark.
- Run the engine for a minute, check for leaks, stop, wait and recheck the dipstick.

Engine air filter elements
Engine · every 1,000 hours or every year
Eurol does not give an air filter interval. On the Fastrac 3230 with the same engine JCB gives the outer element every 1,000 hours or a year and the inner every 2,000 hours or 2 years; check your handbook for yours. Change it sooner in dusty work.
| Part | Qty | Notes | Part number |

Step-by-step
- Stop the engine and take the key out. Never run it with the element out.
- Open the air cleaner and take out the outer element, leaving the inner one in place unless you are changing it.

Grades borrowed from the 3230
Eurol gives no grades. Oil, hydraulic fluid, gearbox oil and brake fluid are named from the Fastrac 3230 manual, which has the same QSB6.7 engine and the same 42 L gearbox and 120 L hydraulic system. Confirm in your handbook.
Filter numbers
Parts dealers list some JCB numbers for the 2155 and 2170. JCB matches parts by serial number, so confirm with a dealer before ordering.
