Service jobs and parts
Fuel filter bowl and element clean
Fuel · every 100 hours
Kubota lists cleaning the fuel filter under Every 100 Hours. Dirt or water here wears the pump and injectors.
Step-by-step
- Work somewhere clean, not out in the field. Make sure the fuel tank is under half full, so fuel does not run back from the return pipe.
- Undo and remove the filter bowl, then rinse the inside with kerosene.
- Take out the element and rinse it in kerosene.
- Reassemble without letting dust in, then bleed the fuel system.
Tools: Kerosene in a clean tub, Rags
Air cleaner element clean
Engine · every 100 hours
Kubota lists cleaning the air cleaner element under Every 100 Hours; clean it more often in dust. It is a dry element, so never oil it.
Step-by-step
- Remove the element. Blow dry dust out from the inside while turning it, at no more than 205 kPa (30 psi).
- For carbon or oil, soak it in detergent for 15 minutes, wash several times and rinse in clean water, then air-dry.
- Look through it with a light for holes. Replace if damaged.
- Check the evacuator valve for blockage: once a week normally, daily in dust.
- Refit the cover with its arrow pointing up. Never run the engine without the element.
Tools: Compressed air (maximum 205 kPa / 30 psi), Detergent
Fan belt tension check
Engine · every 100 hours
Kubota lists fan belt tension under Every 100 Hours. Replace the belt if it is damaged.
Step-by-step
- Stop the engine and take the key out.

Do not take off the wrong filter (HST)
On the HST type, remove the transmission oil filter at 200 hours, not the hydraulic oil filter, or oil drains out.
Fuel tank under half full for the filter job
If the tank is nearly full, fuel can flow back through the return pipe when the bowl is off.
