Lemken Karat 9 K / KU intensive cultivator service schedule

1. Tighten the wheel nuts to the torque for your thread size (M18 × 1.5 290 Nm, M20 × 1.5 380 Nm, M22 × 1.5 510 Nm).
2. Retighten every other nut and bolt to the torque table in your handbook.

1. Check the tyres for damage and wear and the pressure (2.6–2.8 bar on the 10.0/80-12).
2. Check the hoses for damage and leaks and replace any over 6 years old.
3. Check that all safety devices work.
4. Check every tine, share, disc and tool for wear and damage. Replace damaged or worn parts.

1. Lift the machine about 20 cm, secure it with a support, lock the tractor controls and switch off the engine.
2. On quick-change tines, use the Lemken hook wrench to swivel the wire of the linch pin back, press the guide plate up against the tine, pull the pin and swing the share base forward and off. It weighs about 12 kg.
3. On fixed tines, screw the point, guide plate and wing shares to the tine with the screws, to the torque table.
4. Refit in reverse and recheck all fixings.

1. Stop the tractor and take the key out. Wear goggles: grease can escape at high pressure.
2. Grease the pins in the folding cylinders (a), the pins in the folding joints (b) and the hole in the joint (c), as the chart in your handbook shows.
3. Grease again before and after the winter break.

1. Check all wheel nuts are tight and retighten to the right torque.
2. Retighten all other bolts and nuts to the torque in the table and secure with locking compound where required.

1. Raise the implement a few centimetres and secure it so it cannot drop.
2. Slacken the nut on the shear bolt and remove it. Knock the bolt out with a suitable drift.
3. Pivot the tine to the share position needed, put the bolt through the shallow or steep hole and tighten the nut to 113 Nm.
4. Set every tine to the same position. Never leave a shear bolt out: the tine can swing freely and cause injury.

1. Unfold both side sections, raise the machine and secure it so it cannot sink.
2. Clean the disc and bearing flange so no dirt gets into the bearing.
3. Undo the six self-locking nuts, take the disc off, clean the flange and fit the new disc with new nuts at 46 Nm.
4. Side shields: undo the two self-locking nuts, remove the shield, fit the new one with new nuts at 80 Nm.

Tools: Torque wrench, Gloves

1. Clean the machine.
2. Grease all guide pins.
3. Coat all piston rods on the hydraulic cylinders with acid-free grease.
4. Grease all surfaces that could rust.
5. Push the protective caps onto the hydraulic and electrical connectors.
