Service jobs and parts

Daily checks (every 10 hours)

General · every 10 hours

The handbook's 10-hour list: pre-cleaner bowl (if fitted), engine oil level, radiator and cooler cores, coolant level and the windscreen washer. For the first 50 hours also check the transmission oil level, wheel nuts and front hub oil every day.

PartQtyNotesPart number
Windscreen washer fluid1Washer solvent with antifreeze in cold weathercheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Park on level ground, lower implements, stop the engine and take the key out.
  2. Pre-cleaner (if fitted): if dirt or chaff is above the Maximum line in the bowl, undo the wing nut, empty and dry the bowl and refit it.
  3. Engine oil: wait five minutes after stopping, then check the dipstick sits between the two notches (the gap is about 1.8 litres).
  4. Check the radiator, oil cooler and air conditioner condenser cores for chaff; blow out from the back with air or a washer under 7 bar.
  5. Coolant: with the engine cold the level should be about half way up the filler tube. Top up with the 50/50 mix.
  6. Top up the washer reservoir (under the back of the cab, if fitted).

Tools: Rag

Clean the cab air filters

Cab · every 50 hours

Four filters: two outside and two recirculation filters inside the cab. Clean them with air at 50 hours; wash them at 300 hours (or sooner if heavily contaminated).

Step-by-step
  1. Switch the blower off, close the roof hatch, windows and one door, then slam the other door to knock off loose dirt.
  2. Undo the screw at the front of each outside filter cover and lift out the filter. Remove the inside covers the same way.
  3. Blow them out from the clean side with air no stronger than 2 bar (30 lbf/in2).
  4. Wipe the filter chambers with a damp lint-free cloth and refit the filters with the rubber seal uppermost.

Tools: Compressed air (2 bar maximum)

Check the brake (and clutch) fluid level

Brakes · every 50 hours

The reservoir is under the back of the bonnet on the right. Tractors with the 12x12 gearbox share one reservoir for brakes and clutch; all others are brakes only. Use only the right mineral oil: mixing types can cause brake failure.

PartQtyNotesPart number
Brake and clutch fluid1Mineral brake oil (LHM type). Ambra Brake LHM (NH 610 A), top up only. Aztec Oils match: HYDRATEC SYN CHFcheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Look at the level in the reservoir; it must never fall below the MIN line.
  2. If it needs topping up, loosen the nut so the reservoir swings out clear of the bonnet, unscrew the cap and top up to the upper line. Do not overfill.
  3. Refit the cap and tighten the nut.

Tools: Funnel, Rag

Check wheel nuts and tyre pressures

Wheels · every 50 hours

Loose wheel nuts and wrong pressures damage axles and tyres. The handbook sends you to its tyre pressure tables in Section 2.

Step-by-step
  1. Check the wheel nuts are tight (check your handbook for the torque).
  2. Check the pressures against the handbook's tyre pressure and load tables for your tyres.
  3. Inspect the tread and sidewalls for damage.

Tools: Torque wrench, Tyre gauge (calcium-chloride type if the tyres are ballasted with it)

Drain the fuel sediment separator

Fuel · every 50 hours

Water in the glass bowl of the sediment separator should be drained at 50 hours; the fuel filter itself is a 600-hour job.

Step-by-step
  1. Clean round the separator.
  2. If water or dirt shows in the glass bowl, loosen the drain plug and let the contaminated fuel run into a container.
  3. Tighten the plug. On the TS90, TS100 and TS110 turn the key-start switch to the position that runs the lift pump to refill the bowl; on the TS115 use the primer plunger.

Tools: Container, Rag

Check transmission, rear axle and hydraulic oil level

Engine oil and filter change

Engine · every 300 hours

The handbook's normal change is every 300 hours. Halve it to 150 hours in temperatures below -12 C or in arduous conditions (it says the filter then only needs changing at the normal 300 hours, but we list it with the oil). With diesel at 0.5 to 1.0% sulphur change every 150 hours, at 1.0 to 1.3% every 75 hours; fuel above 1.3% is not recommended. The first change is part of the 50-hour dealer service.

Known problems

Engine differs by model

TS90, TS100 and TS110 have a 4-cylinder engine (4.99 L, 304 cu in) and the TS115 a 6-cylinder (7.49 L, 456 cu in). Oil, coolant and fuel tank quantities differ between them.

Oil change interval in older notes

Some older notes quote 150 hours for these tractors. This operator's handbook gives 300 hours for the normal oil and filter change, 150 hours when severe.

Fuel filter at 50 hours

The first 50-hour service includes a new fuel filter. The replacement filter is larger than the original factory filter.

Repair guides

The full step-by-step guides are in Farmyard Workshop once you add your tractor.
