Known problems

Distilled water only

Polaris says tap water contains minerals that harm the batteries. A poorly maintained battery pack deteriorates fast.

Water after charging

Add water after charging, not before, unless the plates are showing.

Lithium models differ

This entry is for the 48 V lead-acid Ranger EV. Lithium-ion and Ranger XP Kinetic models need their own handbook.
