Service jobs and parts
Greasing (20 hour and 50 hour points)
Lubrication · every 20 hours
Pöttinger's lubrication diagram has nipples marked at 20 and 50 hours. The diagram shows only some of the points: any other nipples are greased in the same way. Check the bearing bushes for wear every 100 hectares.
| Part | Qty | Notes | Part number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grease | 1 | Grease type: check your handbook | check your handbook |
| Bearing bush | 1 | Replace when worn, every 100 ha check. Check your parts book | check your handbook |
Step-by-step
- Stop the tractor and take the key out. Wipe the nipples.
- Grease the 20 hour points every 20 hours and the 50 hour points every 50 hours.
- Every 100 hectares check the bearing bushes for wear and replace any worn bush.
Tools: Grease gun, Rags
Hydraulic unit leak check and hose check
Hydraulics · every 50 hours
Pöttinger says to check the hydraulic unit and pipework for leaks after the first 10 hours and then every 50 hours, and the hoses before every start. Hoses age naturally and should not be used longer than 5 to 6 years.
| Part | Qty | Notes | Part number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hydraulic hose | 1 | Genuine Pöttinger or a hose meeting the maker's specification. Part number: check your parts book | check your handbook |
Step-by-step
- Park on firm ground and stop the tractor. Release the pressure.
- Check the hydraulic unit and pipework for leaks and retighten the fittings.
- Before every start, look at the hoses for wear and replace any worn or damaged hose at once.
- Replace hoses older than 5–6 years.
Tools: Spanners, Rags, Card (for finding leaks)
Brake lining check, air tank and line filters
Brakes · every 200 hours
Pöttinger says check the brake linings every 200 hours through the viewing hole, drain the air tank every day, and clean the line filters every 3–4 months. The brakes are a safety device: leave work on them to specialists.
| Part | Qty | Notes | Part number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brake lining | 1 | Replace at 5 mm (riveted) or 2 mm (glued). Genuine Pöttinger from a dealer | check your handbook |
Step-by-step
- Pull out the rubber stopper at the viewing hole and look at the lining thickness. Replace at 5 mm remaining on riveted linings or 2 mm on glued linings. Refit the stopper.
- Drain the water from the air tank before the first run of the day: pull the drain valve bolt sideways with a piece of wire. If dirty, unscrew the valve and clean it.
- Every 3–4 months, clean both line filters: push in the locking tappet on both flaps, remove the slider, tappet, spring and sinter filter insert, wash the insert and blow it dry, and rebuild.
- Only drive off once the air pressure has reached 5.0 bar.
- Have all work on the brakes done by specialists.
Tools: Wire (for the drain valve), Torch
Drawbar coupling eye wear (optional eye)
Hitch · every month
Pöttinger says check the coupling eye once a month. Replace it when the eye diameter is over the wear limit or the ring height or depth is below the limit.
| Part | Qty | Notes | Part number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coupling eye | 1 | Genuine Pöttinger optional drawbar eye | 548.76.421.0 |
Step-by-step

Tools: Vernier calliper
Winter storage
Storage · every year
Pöttinger says clean the machine thoroughly before winter storage, park it under cover, change or top up gear oil if fitted, protect exposed parts from rust and lubricate all points. Disconnect the terminal and store it dry and frost-free.
