Service jobs and parts

Grease the bearing positions

Lubrication · every 20 hours

Stoll's lubrication schedule says grease the bearing positions every 20 operating hours with a grease gun, and more often if dirt gets in. The CL-H has 8 nipples on each side and the CL-P has 11.

PartQtyNotesPart number
Multipurpose grease1Multipurpose grease DIN 51502 K2K, ISO 6743 ISO-L-XCCEA2 or comparablecheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Lower the loader to the ground, stop the tractor and take the key out.
  2. Wipe each nipple and grease all the bearing positions on both sides.
  3. Wipe off any extra grease.

Tools: Grease gun, Rag

Check the catch hook wear and the locking mechanism setting

Mountings · every 20 hours

Stoll's maintenance plan says check the locking mechanism setting every 20 hours and check the catch hook for wear every 200 hours. If the dimension X exceeds 61 mm the loader can break away from the mounting.

PartQtyNotesPart number
Mounting parts1Check your handbook or Stoll parts list for your loadercheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Check the locking mechanism closes fully and has no play (see the manual's locking checks).
  2. Measure the catch hook dimension X. The nominal size is 60 ±0.2 mm and the limit is 61 mm.
  3. If it is worn beyond the limit, do not fit the loader. Have the attachment parts replaced by a workshop.

Tools: Vernier calliper

Hydraulic hose lines: inspect and replace on age

Hydraulics · every 100 hours or every month

Stoll says inspect hose lines every 100 hours (at least once a month), run the shut-off valve open and closed every 100 hours, and have the hoses replaced by a workshop at 4 years. Never use a hose more than 6 years old, and replace porous or cracked hoses at once.

Hydraulic hose lines1Check your handbook or Stoll parts list for your loadercheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Lower the loader and release the pressure before touching any hydraulic part.
  2. Look at each hose for porous, cracked or chafed areas and leaks.
  3. Read the date on each hose (such as 1Q15) and the fitting (such as 0415) and replace any line near or past its age limit.
  4. Open and close the shut-off valve.

Tools: Gloves and goggles, Spanners

Grease the front loader supports (catch hooks) and locking mechanism

Lubrication · every 100 hours

Stoll says clean and lubricate the locking mechanism at least every 100 hours and whenever it becomes sluggish, and grease the supports on the hooks and sliding surfaces at least every 100 hours. Doing it each time you fit or remove the loader is the easiest way.

PartQtyNotesPart number
Multipurpose grease1Supports: multipurpose grease. Locking mechanism: grease or spray oilcheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Unlock and clean the locking mechanism, then lubricate it, preferably with spray oil. Do not spray grease onto the catch hook.
  2. Grease the catch hooks and sliding surfaces of the supports.
  3. Operate the lock through its travel to spread the lubricant.

Tools: Grease gun, Spray oil, Rag

Check the screw connections

Structure · every 100 hours

Stoll's maintenance plan says check the screw connections at the bearing positions every 100 hours and tighten them if needed. Have a workshop retighten all the mounting screws after the first 5 hours of operation on a newly fitted loader.

Step-by-step
  1. Lower the loader to the ground and stop the tractor.
  2. Check each bolt at the bearing positions against the torque table in the manual (clean, dry threads).
  3. Tighten any that are loose.

Tools: Torque wrench, Sockets

Annual check before storage

Storage · every year

Stoll's operating instructions give the schedule above and say a loader in storage is parked on its supports. The manual's own storage text was not read in full, so this is a general yearly prompt: clean, regrease and check before the season.

PartQtyNotesPart number
Multipurpose grease1Multipurpose grease DIN 51502 K2Kcheck your handbook
Step-by-step
  1. Clean the loader and regrease the bearing positions, supports and locking mechanism.
  2. Check the hoses, bolts and catch hooks as in the tasks above.
  3. Cap the hydraulic couplings and park it on its supports.

Tools: Water and mild cleaner, Grease gun

Specifications

Catch hook (support) wearNominal 60 ±0.2 mm; wear limit 61 mm
Hydraulic hose lifeNot more than 6 years from the date marked on the hose, with at least 4 years in use (DIN 20066)
Screw torques (8.8 / 10.9)The manual has a full table for clean, dry threads (page 57); check your handbook for the value for each bolt size

Known problems

Catch hook wear

Stoll warns that heavy wear of the support catch hook (X above 61 mm) can let the loader break off. Measure at the service intervals.

Tractor oil

The loader runs on the tractor's hydraulic oil. Follow the tractor's oil change schedule.
