Known problems

Service reminder needs resetting

The display shows a spanner symbol when a service is due. A dealer says the reset needs Suzuki's plug-in tool (which bridges two wires in a connector disguised as a relay), so ask your dealer to reset it after each service.

Three spark plug heat ranges

Suzuki's parts catalogue lists LMAR6A-9, LMAR7A-9 and LMAR8A-9 plugs for this engine. Fit the one your handbook names for your climate and use.

Water in the gear cases

Owners who work on wet ground check the differential oil for milky water contamination; change it straight away if it is milky.

Sealed oil-bathed rear brake

The rear brake runs in oil inside a sealed case, so the right oil and an intact seal matter. Use only the oil your handbook names for the rear case.
