Step-by-step
- Park on level ground, stop the engine and let it stand for a few minutes. Warm oil drains better.
- Take out the sump drain plug and drain the oil into a container. Clean the plug, refit it and tighten it.
- Take off the oil filter. Wet the rubber seal of the new filter with clean engine oil and screw it on by hand, not too tight.
- Fill with the recommended oil and check the dipstick; fill to the upper mark. Wipe up any spills.
- Start the engine, check for leaks, run it a while and check the level again.

Transmission and hydraulic system oil filters

Valtra's chart puts the transmission oil filters and the hydraulic system oil filter in the 600-hour block. The manual gives the transmission and hydraulic oil change as a separate chart line without a clear interval, so check your handbook; if you change the oil, do it with these filters.

- Open the air filter housing hatch in the upper left of the cab roof, open the support frame latch, lower the frame slightly and pull it out.
- Fit the new filter, push the frame back in, raise it slightly and close the latch and hatch.
- Change the recirculation filter the same way, as the manual shows for your cab.

Valtra's chart puts the fuel prefilter and fuel filter in the 1,200-hour or yearly block. In extremely dusty or cold conditions change them every 600 hours; with first-generation biodiesel above 7% every 500 hours. The manual says to use only original AGCO parts.

- Unscrew the old prefilter by hand (no filter wrench) and lift it out of the bracket. Smear the O-rings with fuel.

- Hard starting or power loss: fuel prefilter and fuel filter (Valtra T4) (Moderate, 45 minutes): Engine slow to start, loss of power, fuel warning, or dirty or wet diesel.
- Weak hydraulics or dusty cab: hydraulic filter cartridge and cab filters (Moderate, 1 hour): Slow lift, hydraulic filter warning, or weak ventilation and dust in the cab.
- AdBlue warnings: SCR breather and supply module filter (Valtra T4) (Specialist, 1 hour for the filters; faults are a dealer job): AdBlue or SCR warnings, reduced power, or the 1,200-hour block is due.
- Low oil pressure warning: checks and the engine oil filter (Moderate, 45 minutes): Oil pressure warning at idle or at working speed, or an oil service due.
