The manual says to lubricate the spreading unit's 5 grease nipples and the dosing operating hinge daily. The coupling shaft nipples (4) are greased 1 to 2 times per season. The service interval chart for the coupling shaft also shows regular grease. The spreading unit also has 3 grease nipples on the fork and pendulum axis bearing housings.

Step-by-step
- Grease the 5 spreading unit nipples daily, and the pendulum axis and fork bearing nipples (2 on the fork housings, 1 on the pendulum axis).
- On the PS225 and 335, put a little oil on the pin joints of the manual operation. On the PS403 to 1654, grease the hinge bushing nipple.
- Grease the 4 nipples on the coupling shaft and grease the profiled tubes.

Tray test
Spread pattern depends on fertiliser. The manual has an online spreading chart service and a tray test to check the pattern.
Welding
Fertiliser containing nitrate can explode if it meets fire. Remove all remnants before welding or grinding.
