1. Stop the PTO and tractor and take the key out.
2. Oil the chains with the chain lubricant, or fill the automatic system tank to 3.2 L at most.
3. Wipe off any surplus and run the chains to spread the oil.

Tools: Oil can or chain spray, Funnel, Clean rags

1. Stop the PTO and tractor, take the key out, and wait until everything has stopped.
2. Retract and remove the knives from the rear of the cutting unit.
3. Clamp each knife in a vice and grind the smooth side only. Do not let it get hot: grind often and a little.
4. Refit the knives and check they move in and out freely.

Tools: Vice, Grinder, Safety gloves and goggles

1. Raise the pick-up and make it safe. Look for bent, worn or missing tines and replace any.
2. Grease the overload clutch nipple.
3. Check the pick-up drive chain tension: spring length E should be 140 mm on RV 2160/2190.
4. Check the nylon tensioner pads for wear and replace if needed.

Tools: Grease gun, Spanners

1. Disconnect the PTO shaft.
2. Grease the nipples on the joints and tubes.
3. Check the tubes slide freely and the guards are undamaged.
4. Grease the two joints well before first use of the season.

Tools: Grease gun

1. Chock the wheels and support the baler on the ground.
2. Tighten the wheel nuts to 270 Nm in a diagonal pattern.
3. Set tyre pressures to the manual's table for your tyre size.

Tools: Torque wrench, Tyre gauge

1. Switch everything off and relieve hydraulic pressure.
2. Remove the hose connection and take the filter out with a screwdriver.
3. Clean the filter, refit it and the hose connection.
4. Check for leaks.

Tools: Screwdriver, Spanners, Clean rags

1. Open the tailgate, fit the stop pins in the side walls and lower the tailgate pressure-free to slacken the belts.
2. Clean the lacings with a pressure washer before removing the pins.
3. Push out the old pins and fit new ones.
4. Cut away any frayed belt edges with a knife.

Tools: Pin punch or lacing tool, Pressure washer for cleaning the laces first, Knife

1. Grease the hitch ring and support jack.
2. Look at the wear sleeve and replace it if worn.
3. Check the hitch eye bolts at 450 Nm.

Tools: Grease gun, Torque wrench

1. Remove twine and net, release the pick-up springs and lower the pick-up.
2. Clean the baler thoroughly and grease all nipples.
3. Check and torque all bolted joints, and check tyre pressure.
4. Take the control box off and store it dry and rodent-proof.

Tools: Air line or pressure washer, Grease gun, Torque wrench

1. Park the baler level, switch off the PTO, stop the tractor and take the key out.
2. Remove the drain plug and let the oil drain. Refit the drain plug.
3. Remove the check plug, then the fill plug. Pour in oil through the fill hole until a little comes out of the check plug hole.
4. Refit both plugs.
5. Check the level again after a run, with the machine standing level.
