Engine oil and filter change

Both handbooks give engine oil and the engine oil filter cartridge every 500 hours (first change at 100 hours on a new or overhauled tractor), and the service inspection every 500 hours but not later than 12 months.

Step-by-step

Drain the oil with the engine warm, refit the plug.
Fit the new filter cartridge with a film of oil on the seal.
Fill to the dipstick marks, run briefly and recheck.

2019 edition: air filter insert every 500 hours or every year and the safety insert every 1000 hours or every 2 years. The 2017 edition says 1000 hours and 2000 hours. The shorter (2019) intervals are used here. Clean the dry cleaner when the indicator shows.

Known problems

Two editions, two gearbox oils

The 07/2017 handbook says 80W GL-4 gearbox oil with the gearbox at 1500 hours; the 01/2019 handbook says Zetor Extra 10W-30 STOU with the gearbox at 1000 hours. Use the book that matches your serial number.

Diesel particle filter

These engines have a diesel particle filter and need low-ash CJ-4/SM oil. The DPF is serviced every 500 hours.
